Ever since the upgrade to 1.1.0.9 i have had the problem that after playing one map, i disconnect when the next map starts loading.

I am also talking about custom maps like snarkpit or undy.
I have to restart HL to play another map.

Could it be i have to change something in my cfg?

Any got a clue?

This usually means that the maps you have are outdated or something similar. You might need to re-install half-life in the default directory (make sure the half-life folder is deleted, as the uninstall file doesn't really take away everything) and install all the updates inside that directory...

If it was external maps that were the problem you coulda probably just allowed the server to upload the correct maps to you.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, kind of a weird problem.

Inkbatz, you must be kidding me!

Please say u are....

In reaction to gel :

The maps arent outdated, because first map always works, but when loading next map starts i get this problem

For example 1st map undy, 2nd map snark_pit loads and then i get "your map snark_pit.bsp differs from the servers' "

When i restart HL and play snarkpit first i have no probs until the next map loads

I know :)
..I was just saying that's usually the problem for what you described.

Hmmm, can you play the maps off-line? (i.e. menu > multiplayer > lan > create game with map cycle).

Nope, sorry I'm not m8.

I had wierd things happen, like corrupted walls, and textures in the middle of nowhere.

Tried every OS, diff memory, etc etc.

Actually m8, I just remembered, I solved it also by underclocking my machine. I had a p3-800, and if I ran it at 600 the problems would go away :|

I also had this problem. I bet you have a motherboard with a via chipset...

Go here for more information.

http://www.networking.tzo.com/net/software/readme/vlatency_v014_readme.htm

There is a known issue with Via chipsets corrupting data. I know it sounds wierd as you didn't have this problem before the patch but I am pretty sure if you apply this patch and reinstall the map your problem will be solved..

Well it worked for me anyway :)

Hope this helps you m8..

Wow, this url really seems to apply to my mobo.

I've got a MSI K7T266 Pro2 Mobo with VIA-chipsets.

Only thing is.....im working under XP and not the older OS's
that get mentioned on that site.

So will that still work, coz i see the consequences can have quite a bad impact, if installed improperly....

I'm really dying to test this out, getting thrown out of HL during mapchanges is really sickening

I found the updated driver-patch for XP.

It's under :

http://www.networking.tzo.com/net/software/readme/faqvl019.htm

I've installed the driver and tested it out immediately on HL.

Result : Two mapchanges and then the same F*cking problem.

Your map.bsp differs blalblalblal....

Grrrrr....

You didn't say if you reinstalled those maps affected or not ?

The maps you are having problems with are probably corrupted so you will need to delete them and then reinstall them from scratch. The patch will solve corruption issues but will not fix files that are already corrupted..

Hope you get this sorted m8...
