Keep getting this Critical error..please help

I just wanted to install Unreal Tornament but i get this error every time. I've tested the disc in my server and it's fine, i get the same error message no matter what CDrom drive i try it in on my PC. Also i copied the Disc to my HDD and tried to intstall from that but still got same error ;(

it's a windows98se fault....but not as i know it, jim

maybe its the safedisc protection not working
you can get things to disable it i think

looks very much like what helical said.
I got that with deus ex when I had my gravis gamepad installed.
After removing it it didnt happen again.
Plus deus ex is based on the ut engine.

yup i got it sorted, u were right, it was my gravis drivers.
