HELP

the other day when starting server my pc up it decided to tell me that it had just put the BIOS settings back to defaults? wtf?

ever since then my adsl keep disconnecting itself every 10 bloody mins and i dont wanna have 2 format if i dont have 2 tbh :S

after it had reset my bios to default settings i altered 2 things.....

1. i put the usb thingy back - obviously this needed doing

2. i pissed about with IRQ's :S dno why, thought this was my problem....... dno if this will have effected anything but i only changed one :S

could be BT im supose :S but my svr PC has been ****ing sweet tbh

and the ONLY other thing that could of effected it may have been juggers ADSL tweak thing............ i dno :SSS

im purely pissed off now tho :S

The tweaks are purely registry, matey. Wouldn't have touched you're bios.

BIOS going back to defaults sounds as though you've either:

1. Updated the BIOS and not remembered (joke!)
2. The CMOS chip has been wiped clean, either by the battery on the motherboard being flat or a piece of software you've recently run.

The CMOS battery I would have thought was most likely, but the BIOS would reset every boot... So not sure.

What have you installed recently on there? Do you have Zonealarm installed and some decent Virus detection software? I'm thinking maybe a trojan on your server?

But i'd go through your bios settings careful and disable the IRQs for com1 and com2, that should free up enough for your current hardware to 'auto-assign'. (So make sure you undo all the IRQ fiddling you've done in Windows!)
