Hi guys!

Ok, I need your help again :)

I have a microsoft intellimouse optical, with winXP and basicly the problem is my sensitivity keeps changing?

like 1 second it's as fast as hell then 10 mins later it's as slow as anything, and I have to keep going to the controll panal to change the pointer speed. I usally have it in the centre but right now it is next to full and feals the same.

I have all the latest drivers and it seems to be clean.

so do any of you guys have a clue what the problem could be?

MOUSE ACCELERATION!

take off pointer precision. adjust mouse speed accordingly.

add to hl shortcut....... something....... errrr cant remember off the top of my head.

this HAS been answered b4 here.. have a search for 'noforcemparms'

K.

I took off pointer precision (which I've always had on from installing XP) & it was normal for 2 seconds, then windows made a sort of chime noise and then it went really slow again... and vice verca :(

the mouse light has also gone out and stoped moving altogether for a min or so. :(

time for a new mouse maybe?

C:\Games\Half-Life\hl.exe -w 1024 -console -zone 8048 -game ag -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel

the last two are the mouse ones..

the windows chime means its detected uve unplugged a usb device.. sounds like the usb is playing up. if uve got a via chipset look for the latest 4in1s or patches etc.. (there are noted probs with via and usb)

just turning mouse prez off wont work.. put in the last 2 commands to ur hl shortcut :) then mouse acc will b sorted. as for the cut out prob.. search for the drivers i suggested :)

gl m8 :)

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse]
"SmoothMouseXCurve"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,a0,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,40,\
01,00,00,00,00,00,00,80,02,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00
"SmoothMouseYCurve"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,66,a6,02,00,00,00,00,00,cd,4c,\
05,00,00,00,00,00,a0,99,0a,00,00,00,00,00,38,33,15,00,00,00,00,00

If slowing down and mouse light going off it sounds more like a faulty mouse.

Mine started just slowing down and the light dimming, was on WinME though.
I called Microsoft support and told them, they sent a new mouse.

What the registry hack actually do Rasta ?

SuperFLY

it turns off mouse acceleration (as in win98 etc..)

But there is a check box for that ?

Oh hum, never mind, sure there is some wierd reason for it. :E

sortof.. thats pointer prezision.

u need the shortcut commands in hl otherwise it doesnt turn off...

this reg entry turns it off at the source :)
