hmmm...
You could get what I have for around that price now m8....
Not sure its the best, but

Abit IT7 MAX2 mobo
P4 2.53
512 Corsair XMS 3200 memory

The retail heatsink fan is fine with the P4's, although I just upgraded mine to the SLK900 and have seen an amazing decrease in temperatures under load.....
Cost me £75 for the cooler/fan alone though.

£300 should but u some very nice bits m8, heres what I paid to build my P4 system

2.4ghz P4 (533FSB) - £125 (pc fair)
Asus P4S8X-X Mobo - £55 (PC world)
512rdram - £55 (PC world)

Plus i got these bits on top of what your looking to buy

Globalwin Case - £82 (specialtech)
Liteon 52 X CDR/RW - £35 (pc fair)
Neon Strip light - £14 (PC World)
Rounded Ata Cables - £12 (PC world)

Not bad really to say that I only went to PC world cos I had run out of blank CD's on a sunday .... inpulse buying new a mobo is expensive ! :)

Thats cheap dilb, might have a go down the local pc fair here in stratford and c what i can pick up.

Hitman I found that board for 75 seems very cheap for what ya get only thing bout it though is the x4 agp , would quite like the x8 but by looks of things prices seems to shoot up a lot with boards supporting the x8.

I found the v 2 of dales mb for just over 100 which seems quite a tempting offer

Only boards which support 8x agp on the P4 platform are the granite bay and canterwood boards which are £130+
