Is there another graphics card that you can try to see if that is the problem?
Random errors can be caused by ram, but i doubt it if its graphical :(

The motherboard is an a7s333 which is an sis chipset. Are you on the latest bios for the motherboard.
have you got the latest service pack for win2k?
Have you installed the latest sis chipset driver for your mboard.
Have you got the latest version of your gcard drivers.
what version of direct x are you on?
need some info to help m8.

http://www.asus.com.tw/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=A7S333
go there and get the latest bios and agp sis driver.
If your uncomfortable flashing your bios just try the agp win 2k driver.
then go to ati.com and get the correct drivers for your card.
Try that if that no good give a shout again m8.

no on the bios update
yes sp3 in
there doesn't seem to be chipset drivers (if there is a link would
be cool )thx inadvance if thats the case
up to date on all gcard drivers
directx 9.0
latest agp drivers in (just put them in)
thx m8 but still the same thing and i just redid windows >format c:
and kept jumping in hl and testing at different parts of updates eg. updated drivers for vid sp3 and no agp drivers same thing
just tried after agp drivers same thing :(
this just happended out of the blue couple days ago and i have a
demo of it going on and wow splinter cell and high end games
go to right shiat but play right for a few secs before going to crap
i go through all the basic fixes including reinstalling windows before i post here or rage tech ... i'm almost sure its a hardware failing somewhere (vidcard is my guess) just trying to get a little more sure before taking steps that require $$$ any other ideas u might have would be greatly appreciated thx in advance :)

Have you got a m8 with a GFX card he would let you try ?
I would guess its that tbh.

Ive known these sort of problems be anything from. Graphics, memory or even your cpu.
My m8 had problems running certain games, he got real dodgy artifacts on the screen when playing games. Tried gcard, then memory, then mobo. Turned out to be the cpu. Why it worked in most applications and had problems with the graphics i dont know. But when we changed cpus, it was sorted.
It sounds like you know your stuff m8, im afraid its now a process of elimination. I would first try a diffrent gfx card.
Then maybe your memory, if you have multiple sticks, take one out etc. Then try changing your cpu. Lets hope you have a m8 who has similar stuff to let you mess about with. If not buy from somewhere that will let you return em.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

One more thing maybe try loading some deafaults on your mobo settings, sometimes your sse instructions or level 2 cache on the cpu can be disabled that could cause a prob.
