IE5 crashes when a key is pressed.

Running IE5 on NT4.
when ever I go to a search engine and type anything it causes IE5 to crash.
the only thing close I can find is from the MS knowledge base article 235236.

any help much appreciated.

Don't use NT4 :E

tbh, i think there are issue concerning security permissions with any versions of IE over v4 working with NT4.

If you HAVE to use NT4, then i'd consider using Opera or Netscape.... i guess it isn't your main machine?

Otherwise, quite a strange one, but I have an NT4 server which is running VMware, and i have WinXP installed as a VM.
Perhaps consider this?

yeah its not my PC m8, tis a clients. and they won't have any other browser.
tbh they being a pain as they won't even let me upgrade IE.

Just tell them its an unsupported 'feature' from MicroSoft m8, and that if they want to use something Microsoft based that doesn't suck.... i suggest they wait till they make vacume cleaners tbh.

well, I told them I had to tke their PC into the workshop.
I took it and installed IE5.5.
problem solved.
