around 44c and about 48c under load

amd tbird 1.4ghz running an asaka 2.8ghz rated heatsink & fan with an exhaust blower

62 is rather high.. my mobo sends off warning signals if mine goes above 60! and its set to shutdown @ 70

Think you need some better cooling.
Mine maxes out about 55 i think.
Getting a new HS soon though, volcano 11. woot. Should keep it below 45 most of the time :D

Mine gets sometimes to 33 idle 42 under load.
XP1800 with Tt volcano 9 and arctic 3.

Just about to fit a quieter fan to see wat happens, and maybe a pin mod later in the week.

CPU death imminent me thinks.

But I used the HS & Fan that came with the (PIB) cpu.

Its a nice shade of green though.

how do you find out the temp?

Install something like MBM5 m8.
Just search on google.

Of course your Mobo and bios need to support temperature sensing.

This beast (sorry, you have served me well) doesn't record a temp, although I don't think I'll worry too much as it sounds like a jumbo taking off inside there.

if u press delete (or woteva) wen ur comps loading up, it goes into setup mode (bios) most modern boards have a hardware monitor function in there :D

just started tw*tting the voltz on my p4 for good measure (1.725 cpu core), running 65 under load if you believe your mobo. @ default voltz (1.525) it is mid 40's under full load

btw, straight from intel engineers....

p4 throttle at 70 deg c exactly but up to that point it doesnt matter what your heat is, it does no affect chip (although the hotter your heat sink, the hotteryour case and mobo)
