help w/ hl vid settings

i need some good video settings with the best speed here are my current settings, also i hear some stuff causes choke...i just want some good settings and i have a ATI Radeon 8500 1.6 p4 a3d card. if anyone uses an ati also give me some ati video settings on the advanced bar in vid properties.

I had an 8500, Raptor has it now, maybe he'll share his settings with you.
Make sure you use OpenGL, and force V-sync to be always on in control pannel of catalyst drivers. They are application pref by default, and HL doesn't request it.

I also prefer to have things like smoothvision disabled in the catalysts.
