fps Probs with Xp and A3D !!!

my system:

Windows Xp
Leadtek Geforce 2 GTS/Pro 64MB DDR
256 MB SDRAM
2 Souncards:
-SB Live Player 5.1
-Terratec Xlerate Pro Pci
Abit Mainboard

I installed Win Xp and now i have fps probs !
Everytime I start hl I get 100 fps but a few minutes later I only have 40 - 50 fps. I have the newest Detonator Driver form Nvidia.
But when I disable my A3D settings I kepp my 100 fps.

please help me out !

m8 check to see what these settings are set to for a3d

snd_noextraupdate - should be set to 1
s_geometry - should be set to 0
and try
s_reverb 1 and try 0 aswell see if that helps

My fps still went down from 100 to 50 - 70 fps in action !

I dont think my system is to slow, but what could it be ??

My monitor refreshrate is at 75 Hz and I have written down what you told me Enigma.

Do you have another idea ???

Hi Enigma.

I have tested again with increasing my monitor refresh-rate to max. , but I only can set it up to 85 Hz. I also tested at 100 Hz , but then windows seems a little :( :( .
But at 100 Hz mein fps drops only to 90.

Do you think there is another way to fix it or not ?
