Tarby, the WONID belongs to KN, it's one of the many he uses.

However, I leave it in the hands of ITV, as by the letter of the law, you're entitled to a default.

A point to KN: USE THE WONID YOU REGISTERED WITH. Otherwise you'll be risking handing over default wins to the opposition before you even start!

I would have picked this up this evening, but the DB went down earlier, so no way to quickly check all matches. Sorry :(

I want to make it clear that we do understand that IF for example Red5's WONID is out by one digit due a spelling mistake that some clans are willing to leave it? ITV lost a clan match due to the rules being imposed without question 3 weeks ago.

We had a very GG ITV and it would be a wast
to change that to a default coz of a WONID.

I know you guys would be in your right to claim the default

WONID's will always be a problem I think, not everybody
has his own copy of HL so they use a ripped key
so a ripped ID, and a typo is very clear to see imo
so that situation was bully imo, but wasnt there.

Next week, as rcon say is disabled remotely, I'll be simply kicking/banning for 60 minutes any wonids not registered. I'll enter the server once done to explain the situation to the admin.

For the clan's info: The kicked players can return with their REGISTERED wonid. However, players can only be subbed between maps, with a maximum of 2 players. So other players CANNOT be used to replace those kicked until the map ends.

Hope this is clear, because I do NOT want any $hit on this next week. This week was an extreme situation as I couldn't access the DB, next week won't be (hopefully) so be prepared!

Ya, I figured this would happen. I have like 12 different .reg files, all with different wonids that will replace my current one if I execute it.

I have two that are named, league1.reg and league2.reg. Lol one is for hlccl and one is for cal. I thought i hit the rt one, but alas, i did not.

I have since renamed the .reg files to more user-friendly names. I do apologize and understand that it is more responsibility to make sure the rt wonid is used.

Mad props to ITV for being good sports, but I have to say, i doubt I would of been upset had they taken the default, just because I understand I broke the rules.

Bad loophole there m8.

Player A joins server in place of Player B, Player A is kicked ( or not as last night) coz of differing Wonid , Player A informs Player B that he cannot play, and Player B enters game.


The Rule should be that ANY player entering game with incorrect Wonid is banned for duration of match.

Have to say, I think Inks is spot on here. Tarby has let his good nature, and sportsmanship get in the way of doing the right thing, if you set a precedent here to allow clans to decide if they want to take the default or not when a player plays under wrong won id, then it puts the pressure on clans in the future to not feel as if they have the right to a default, an opens the door to potential flamage and nightmare choices for clanleaders, this decision shouldnt rest in the hands of the clans involved, but in the Leadership of HLCCL.

Tarbs will know this, but knowing him, feels as if TT earnt a point, and also earnt his respect, as he says tis a shame, as the game wasobviously a good one, and such a silly mistake by Nig and his bros, but rules are rules.

All the above is just imo.

TT are in a unique position, as the WONID that was checked DID belong SOLELY to Karate-Nig, so I've no problem with allowing it.

But, for example, in the MiB vs Pain4U match, the WONIDs in question belonged to SEVERAL people, so I believe in that case Pain4U get the default.

It's a fine line, but let's not forget what the checks are for: To minimise the possibility of ringers. In KN's situtation, the WONID is used by him (and him alone). In MiB's case, their unregistered WONIDs belonged to various individuals, and hence the ruling is more severe.

That's my view on it. Next week will be a completely different story, as the WONIDs will be checked, double-checked and if necessary simply banned for the duration of the match. Making the whole thing a lot easier.
