Nooob to Xbox

I have just brought an Xbox and need help buying the correct mod etc
Would be nice as well to buy a new hard drive for the console, so please point me in the right directions...

He sorted me out at the GT LAN just this past weekend - which reminds me I still gotta settle up wif heeem :o

takes up to a max of 137GB I'm told so a nice 120gb drive would do the trick :E

just opened the case and checked the holes were not soldered up (as I read some are)
they are not :) so I presume a Xecuter 2.3B Pro ( Pin Header Install ) will do the trick as I recall this was the same that JC carried out on the above...(psymonkee's)

yup
try getting a Lite version instead of Pro m8, just a bit cheaper and doubt ya will need the pro.
i would try the wire install 1st m8, cos its easier to remove if it dont work, so then ya can try the pins.
biggest tip i can give is try to be as neat as pos with the soldering and use as small tipped soldering iron as pos.

Jc am I correct in saying you dont need to take the motherboard out to install the Lite version wire ?
But would be easier if the Mb was taken out !

also the switch, I dont really need to put this on ? as its for live only ?

i got the lite plus version and it works perfectly EXCEPT i have the thompson drive in my Xbox so atm i dont have any CD-R's that it will read to update the bios and put on EvolutionX dash on it

i have a DVD writer also but atm only +R's :@ so i got to wait untill i got some new media this week sometime

JC any help in this area would be GREATLY appriciated as atm i just turn off the mod chip and play xbox like normal but i wat to play my Haxor files that i "aquired"

get on supernova alba m8, its called Slayers Auto-Installer.
is about 200mb ish.
if ya cant find it gimme a shout.

correct about wires m8, its better to remove the mobo really, and solder the wires on the back.
i mount the switch on the back next to the rj45 socket, and i never used live so i never really turn the mod off.

just need 2 try dif discs m8, me used cd-rw in thompson drives and been ok, and some cd-r, pioneer drives have been worse for me. Just try blaggin discs off ppl ya know, then when ya find 1 that works get a load of em :)
