Has anyone had any experience with the Zalman flower heatsinks for AMD Chips...

im not overclocking so much now and just want a quiet PC for leeching at night. At present the delta screamer is too loud to sleep throu.

what temps do you have?

I've got one, and I too used to have a delta.

With the delta I had 25-32C and tinnitus, with the flower cooler (with fan rotations on minimum) Its more like 34-47C but my ears dont hurt any more.

You might want to check other stuff too though; once you've turned the delta off you'll notice the other fans more, and mobo fans/ gfx card fans make horrible whining noises that you might end up wanting to get rid of. IBM 75XPs also have loud operating noises.

Buy a mac instead :)

Well its a damn sight quieter than a delta m8, it should stop you being able to hear it through walls.

I am not really that keen on Zalmans after owning one, sure they are quiet but I decided I really like active cooling. Go a happy medium between noise and effectiveness, plenty of decent socket A coolers around. I owned a Delta too, big mistake!! that whining noise still haunts me to this day.

Temperatures? around 50-60 ;(

You could of course do what this guy did :D

You could try a globalwin fop-32 and replace the 60mm crappy fan with an 80mm evercool one using an adaptor :)
Nice and quiet and good performance. (38c idle, 43c max)

all good feedback :) thnx ppl

tommycooper - that is indeed an interesting site. not sure bout the copper piping mods thou.
Which cpu were you using with the zalman to get those temps?

Badger, i have a spinkee window mod. So i was going for the looks as well :)

i could also get the 80mm fan on the globalwin with a led kit so that would look good.

ordering my new fans shortly :)

will look gorgeous in my juno...
