Right peeps.... can anyone help, and cheers in advance...


1. ) Which is better, Adaptec 2940UW or Diamond Fireport 40, i believe its the Diamond, i think it does 40mb/s and the Adaptec only does 20?

2.) Will a P2 board struggle with a 75GB HDD, or will the BIOS take no notice of it as the card handles it......

3.) How long does it take to format one of these beauts!!

1. Both cards can do 40 MBytes/sec. I would however chose the 2940uw. U will get more stability and a good support from the manufacturer. The fireport is a legacy product.

2. P2 boards can handle large IDE drives if u can find a recent bios (maybe beta). If ur drive is SCSI, it's the SCSI adapter that takes care of that.
