prob with steam (autoexec and a3d)

oi, so the prob is: i put my autoexec in folders steam/etc... but after this, my steam don't work (??) so i delete it, and i add my s_a3d.cfg (i install it correctly i think) but when i made exec s_a3d.cfg, my hl crash... i hope someone know the prob ^^
