Anyone managed to get over 512mb ram working on WinMe?

I have 512 on ME but I have a problem using scandisk function...
always get error even if i disable all other programs before trying it. Ive had puter 6 months now and havent been able to scan through yet. help?

You'll be able to run scandisk when booting though safemode (to get into safemode press F8 at startup).
But should work in both normal and safemode.. close down all programs except for systray and explorer and also verify screen saver is off and any power managment is turned off, then run scandisk.

Another possibility is a DSL or cable modem.. the "always on" will result in data packets being sent from your ISP causing some restarts.

if u can't go through scan disk then for me, its a sign that some win me files have corrupted itself OR u haven't downloaded all of the win me ms updates.

i highly recommend getting every single update for win me as i even i can't get it to stay stable otherwise.
