A m8 of mine has just lent me his xbox that he's bought for his kids for xmas so i can check it works ok and load some games onto it. It has an Xecuter chip in it (not sure which version tho, i'll check later for u). Anyways, i've found that sometimes on bootup it seems to miss the bios which is a pain in the arse as you have to reboot until it loads the correct dashboard. I'm not an expert on these modchips but i can only assume that it is the chip that's causing this to happen. I fitted a cheapmod chip to mine and never had any problems with it at all. That's why i can't understand why anyone would want to pay more for a fancy chip when the cheapmod chip does it just as well
Some xbox geek will prolly come in now and tell me i'm talking shit but hey ho :)

Switch, if its the chip Dilberts talking about it says in the instructions because its solderless it must be pushed in HARD otherwise it wont always find the chip.
The chip in mine is the cheapesst of the cheap and it works ok but occasionaly my XBOX locks up for no reason which isn't like a Microsoft product at all :)

Ordered one anyway, will let yah know how I get on.
Wanted one that I didnt have to solder as I have a couple of mates who want theirs chipping and although I would have had a bash at soldering my own dont wanna destroy theirs so better safe than sorry :)

Xecuter 3 comes highly reccomended by me :)
Makes modding your box a breeze. You just fit it, turn on the xbox, it loads it's own OS, picks up the network and presents you with a web interface and FTP server where you can just flash your choice of BIOSes dead easy. Has a cool little control panel that fits to the front of the xbox with hdd/lan activity lights and dip switches for the memory banks. Also has connectors for upcoming mods such as the LCD and an enhanced control panel. The onboard OS does all the stuff you need it to, and some, lots of tweaky effects for the flubber startup and whatnot, HDD locking with one button press.
Tis a great chip imo, even though Team Xecuter are a bunch of cocks :)
