View Full Version : Anyway to get a line-in connection to utilise EAX effects?

Bonsoir,

I recently realised that I use too many words that start with "re". Also, I got a hold of a large-to-small adapter and discovered I could not bother with an amp and plug my guitar into the line-in socket on my PC.

Now here's the deal, I have one of those EAX studios that let you change the effects of what you hear (underwater effects, psychotic overdrive, etc) but it doesn't seem to work with my guitar... plugged into the Line-In, as usual.

I don't want to have to record something then play it back with effects... is there any way I could utilise the effects when playing it through my speakers? I think that could have some cool results. :)

Cheers.

Been a long time since I did this, and it was on a SB Live so things may be a little different depending on your card / setup

Was as simple as going into audio hq -> Environmental Audio -> Input tab and then setting the input (line in your case) and the effect amount

Hope this helps, enjoy :keke:

This sounds sensible... but I can't find it. :(

It's an old-ish SB Live! so it sounds similar... I just can't find the option. >.<

Same here, I remember faffing around with a mic on my sblive1024, can't remember exactly where the setting was ,but you can do it.

I can get the microphone to make my voice do wierd things ("Kidnapper" setting is quite good :)) but when it records it doesn't use the effects, it just records my normal voice. It's like it only affects stuff in "real time", but then I can't get it to affect my real-time jammin' via line-in.
