High Ping help!

hello, a m8 of mine keeps getting high pings of about 120-180 even though he has 1mb adsl. he has tried turning off his firewall (norton) etc, and hes not downloading anyting, but no luck. anyone got any ideas/fixes? cheers

Maybe this is sorted by now...but...

tracert output would help to identify where the problem is.

Bring up a DOS box/command prompt window/whatever you want to call it.

Type "tracert xx.xx.xx.xx" where xx.xx.xx.xx should be replaced by the ip address of the server he is getting the high pings on.

Paste output here if you need help decoding it.
