my computer shut it self down last night. Now i think its blown somat as it wont start back up. No bios beeps, no signal going to my monitor.
It was shutting its self down all night about 5 times in total. It just switches power off then i take the power cord out and plug it back in and it normally works. Is this the PSU tripping?
The bloody thing cost me 600 to build and i hope to god my X800 is still working.
Any advise would be helpful. Im hoping to god it was just heat and itll be working fine when i get home, but i know it wont b :(

Sounds like it could be the PSU not coping or something else overheating.
What components you got? PSU. CPU etc?

Having to remove power lead to repower is either a faulty PSU or overheating (normally)

I was hoping for temp as its either that or a bad psu. But i think the PSU is fine as i didnt have a problem until it starts gettin warm in my room.
However due the fact the bios isnt beeping im goin towards more of a mobo problem.
I was looking to change this in the future to a better one and a 64 chip. But i wanted to wait.
Fingers crossed it is heatin and i can start the fooker when i get home. If not im guna be offline for a while and ill have to get the cash for a new mobo and cpu. Altho ill prob just by a decent mobo and put my cpu in it.
My system is:-
ASRock K7S8XE mobo
3.2 Barton AMD
X800 pro
2 sticks of 512k ram
and 2 120 maxtors.
400w PSU as well :)
My FSB was only set at 166 rather than 200 due to the mobo and handling the 2 sticks of ram.
So it is underclocked. I give it a gud cleaning as well tonight before i switch it on.
Keep the advise coming, any suggestions are most welcome.

Brand of PSU m8?
cheap brand (e.g. Qtec)= fine for office shite for high demand stuff
the voltage will be less constant so if u have a sudden demand for alot of power it cant deal
