heres the skinny homies

1. computer works fine for a short time
2. computer dies (orange flashing light nxt to power button).
3. everytime after the length of time the computer works for shortens.
4. have removed side panel, same problem

this computer was previously working, and there is no new hardware installed.

dont think its a power issue, as it just wouldnt start up if it was, which leads me to think its the processor overheating, (cant check to be certain as bios doesnt have a temp monitor :().

any ideas + solutions?

clean the dust outta the heatsink and fan, wont work properly all clogged up :)

also PSU lacking wattage can cause the CPU ta run hot

thatd be my guess,
capacitors leaking electrolyte.

Before coming to that conclusion have a goose at the event viewer see what that chucks up and look in the bios at temperatures.

Has the computer been moved recently? ie: moved recently?
:E

i cba :D

being serious now, has it been tipped upside down for some reason or being move so ya mum could clean underneath it? i'm quite safe. cos nobody cleans up round here :E

reason for asking. sometimes a screw or a piece of metal can somehow manage to find its way underneath the m/board and cause it to short out.

For more details on this, speak to momitsu.. :)
