I have enough spare hard drives so i thought i would try RAID for a change. I have installed all the drivers i can possibly think of, also been into BIOS and enabled everything related to RAID.

Installed the RAID tool and i get this error message:

"No stand-alone disk and No usable disk array attached, please check if any disk array is broken."

Its the first time i have ever tried RAID so atmo, i don't have much of a clue (if any) what the problem is.

Any help is appreciated.

Thats the problem then mate, for RAID you need identical drives !

Err sorry to burst the bubble but you do NOT need identical drives for raid !

It IS recommanded in most cases but it is NOT needed.

For starters : can you see the drives in the bios of the card ? And what raid card/chip are you using
