crash after quitting hl

hi,

sometimes mn pc crashes after quitting hl :(
After quitting i can see my desktop with somtimes some windows without any text in....I can still move my mouse,
but after i press some keys or mouse-buttons pc locks up...

Any1 got same prob or got any suggestions?

Running WinXP on AXP, MSI mobo, SB audigy, ...


PS yea, i already tryed fresh install of halflife :p

Completely random guess, but try binding a key in HL to:

"disconnect; exit"

Sounds wierd but give it a try...

if ur using all seeing eye i suggest u set that to 'quit when joining a game'

i dont get it .. but some people have having that lockup/restart prob with it

nah, I'm not using ASE for starting up a game, I always copy/paste the ip

Change default desktop colout depth to 16bit

I had same prob, so I use this bind :)

// quit HL game
alias "endgame" "disconnect;wait;quit"
bind "F12" "endgame"

oki thats a side effect unfortunately...


wot u do is hit alt-ctrl-del to bring up the tasks menu

in processes u'll c hl.exe in there.. end the task and u'll b fine

(it happens somethings.. a little annoying but its the price u gotta pay)

Dont have that problem here, and havnt got any crashes since I use the "disconnect;wait;quit"-bind.
