Oi ! I thought that this would sit here unoticed for at least a few days, 4 mins is just crazy, are you stalking me or what ?? :(
:-)
I tried to get one from all over the place to start with and everywhere was always out of stock but expecting delivery real soon ... so I went to ebay and got a new one on buy it now, next day delivery and £20 cheaper than I had seen everywhere else ... doh ... should have gone there first !
Tis mucho fun tbh, base is just filled with water and it didnt look that big but still took over 10 mins to fill with the hose pipe and theres enough in there for it to not budge when I hit it .. and give it the odd sly kick of course :-) I am sure the neighbours that look onto our back garden find it very amusing but its fun, a lot cheaper than my £60 per month gym membership that I was paying to go to one boxing class per week and its great bear foot in the back garden pprancing around hitting it after coming back from a run :)
Would deffo be good for some ufc stuff matey cos you can hit it with any bit of your body it being a tube and all that.

I got mine from this chap http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/creatinestore was very good, day after ordering it I emailed him to ask when I could expect delivery and it had already been delivered that morning and was waiting to be collected at my next door neighbours when I got home.

That bag is ok but it I think it needs some weight behind it. Looks a bit flimsy. Either that or you've got an hard punch!
I wish I could find somewhere to hang mine but i'm afraid my house will fall down.
Can't hang it outside cus my nosey neighbours just won't leave me alone.
;(

Yes its not as heavy as a hung bag, but I dont have anywhere to hang one of those anyway so this was a compromise for me and it deffo makes my hands and arms sore after a decent workout so theres enough weight in it, you dont need a big weight to punch against for a good workout and the spring back makes it fun to punch.
I was originally gonna get a slam man with light zones that light up but I decided on one of these instead as a cheaper possibly more versatile option.
Certainly makes the old heart pound and the sweat come out very quickly so I think it will do the trick.

Sorry to hijack your thread but i've also started an exercise program and its going good :D
At the moment it's 4 split days a week weight training with different muscle groups on each of the days (i think thats the right way to do it anyway)
I'm not so good with the cardio. It's not that i can't do it, it's more a motivational (can't be bothered to get off my lazy ass) thing. Any tips on that?
I read somewhere, maybe here tbh, that doing cardio before breakfast helps fat burn during the day, is that true? If it is, how long after cardio should i have breakfast?
BTW i'm currently 169 lbs and i reckon i need to drop 11 lbs to make me 11 stone or 69kg. Wish me luck people :cheese:

Please don't tell me you just posted that! :)
Currently still on a semi-break from the rowing, still managed an average of 50k or so per week over the last 4 but exams are taking priority at the minute so easing off until I finish them off.

..
Ye thought i heared that too, so you will burn fat instead of the energy you just ate which haspriority in using above fat..
Dno if it's true tbh but sounds logical :p

That pretty much answers it
But theres another point of view here

It seems i'll have to experiment to see which ones best.

Everyone mentions all sorts as a good way to burn fat - empty stomach, intervals, just going for it etc. etc.
I think the general idea is to just do it though :), personally I like to spend an hour - an hour and a half just going for it and getting my heart rate up there. I also like to mix it up with the odd interval session.
I think it really just boils down to whatever fits into your schedule/what you feel comfortable with. Being a student I have the time to do an hour - an hour and a half 5-6 days a week to help keep the fat off/keep my fitness up. Others may find interval session totalling 30 minutes or so easier to manage/fit in etc. Really just depends on the individual, some might also prefer cycling to running, rowing to running or skipping etc. I personally enjoy rowing as I feel I get a good quality workout - the majority of my muscles are used and it takes a lot of effort, it's also low impact so that is nice.
As I said, depends on the individual imo.

Totally agree, the view just keeps changing on this and theres good arguments for all ways, some people say it makes no difference when you do it, other say first thing on a morning is best, some say last thing at night then they argue about whats the best zone to be in, how much difference high intensity v low intensity makes etc etc .... I am sure some of these do have an effect but I think its marginal compared to what you can achieve by fitting it in when you can and doing the exercise you enjoy doing rather than trying to stick to a strict schedule and only doing certain exercises.

Yes thats part of my current plan, and also to build my running and cycling miles back up .... just struggling majorly for time atm due to work, travelling and the photography stuff I am doing ... sleep and exercise have been the main casualties this year but I am working to reverse that trend atm.
