Monitor problem

I got a nineteen inch monitor and a new geforce4 card. When I go into HL the resolution changes so that the screen is stretched off the screen.

When I come out of HL the monitor turns itself off then switches back on in correct resolution.

I got latest drivers for everything, is there anything else I can try.

when you are in half life, adjust the screen settings width ect. it will only take effect on that res and the monitor or PC should remember it

what refresh rate is your monitor on??

mine did that a bit as my refresh rate was 100hz but hl could only run @ 60hz.

i stuck on my trusty nvidia refresh patch and voila.. sorted

Yep, sounds like a refresh rate issue
