Going to buy game today and wondered how peeps HL skills transfer to BF1942

Will I be able to bridge the gap to say the next skilled player above me in HL ie Judge

I worry about been worse as I was very poor TP

Its totally different from HL m8.
If you play it like you play HL or Garpy plays HL, you wont be the best player. Points aren't awarded to the best shot, but to the peeps that capture and hold enemy positions.
Camping isn't an option either.
Imagine the allies landing at Normandy and just camping on the beach..............would'nt have worked would it.

Its a lot less about the best shot as Pavlos has said.

Be interesting to see how specialised ppl go with this cos theres already quite a lot that seem to do nothing but fly and another bunch who just drive tanks ist that sorta game where its gonna be difficult to do everything well...... theres just that many aspects to it.

I was reading the official webby and have to admit my 1st inkling was to fly the planes......but suppose I will end up with what I feel comfortable with...

Was also feeling worried that I would'nt be up to scratch and not get into a clan.....

Is there a lan type mode where I could praccy offline?

I personally like to be the Engineer, lay a few mines, fix a few tanks and stuff.

Scout and Assault is my fave. Scout is good if you are a long way from the point, but assault rox for getting close. Pressing G to pick up other packs helps a lot too.

If you are Assault and at a point with lots of other peeps, it's a quick way to rack up the kills. Unfortunately it's no good for getting you there in the first place. If you can grab a jeep or tank you are sorted.

engineer and tank combo cant be beaten imo
plus the shite, gay lag comp isn’t so noticeable when your firing shells at peeps

i play as a medic, using jeeps to assault and capture bases i rarely bother with tanks or planes. engineer and tank is also good (not my cup ot tea tho) but u cant beat jeeps for covering ground fast, it also makes a good weapon.
