With all due respect and whilst I don't agree with mid_gen's comment, I do have to ask why you singled out 'poorer society' in having to 'fend for themselves'? Surely eveyone will now need to fend for themselves?

because most crime happens in poor areas, this is the place that most needs crime prevention

(And cos I am anti-conservative and their view that everyone on benefits is a scrounger and then their blunderbuss approach to solving it)

I was clearly trolling

although not loving benefits claimants after some jobless crackwhore slut kept me awake with a drugs/shouting/shagging fest until 4am on Monday....whilst clearly not paying my extortionate rent.

At least I keep my parties for the weekend

Shut up you muppet, it was a rally spec'd car, and he happened to be driving it through town (not through a town center) no pedestrians etc complained, the police simply deemed it "too loud"

I think frankie boyle said it it well "the trouble with asbo's is that teenagers see them like some sort of badge of honour, if they called them gaybo's or bender badges nobody would be half as keen to get one" or something like that.

Surely there needs to be crime prevention everywhere and the lack of ASBOs (if this is to be a bad thing) will have an effect on everyone, not just in the 'poor areas'.

ASBOs failed IMO.
But that doesn't mean it should be easier for chavs to cause annoyance to the majority of good people.
